Crearon lazos como l\u00edderes de caba\u00f1a, dejando sus vidas de adultos en la puerta y adentr\u00e1ndose en la magia del campamento.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201c<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Me ha ayudado a salir un poco de mi caparaz\u00f3n<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>,\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;Colin dijo.&nbsp;<strong><em>\u201cSoy una persona muy reservada, pero aqu\u00ed me siento c\u00f3moda siendo tonta y ruidosa y todo eso. Colin se inspir\u00f3 para ser voluntario debido a sus intereses profesionales en la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica y quer\u00eda conocer un entorno fuera del \u00e1mbito m\u00e9dico tradicional.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Ian se ofreci\u00f3 como voluntario por primera vez en Flying Horse Farms antes de mudarse a Colorado, y quer\u00eda continuar su participaci\u00f3n con la Red de Ni\u00f1os SeriousFun, lo que lo llev\u00f3 a Roundup River Ranch. Su hermana falleci\u00f3 tras una afecci\u00f3n card\u00edaca mal diagnosticada, y \u00e9l quer\u00eda brindar apoyo a los campistas y sus familias que hab\u00edan tenido experiencias similares. Le encant\u00f3 especialmente que el campamento de verano incluyera a los hermanos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cNuestra familia pas\u00f3 por lo que muchas de estas familias pasan\u201d.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;Ian dijo.&nbsp;<strong><em>\u201cSer solo una peque\u00f1a parte de un campamento para estos ni\u00f1os, especialmente los hermanos... y sabiendo lo que se siente como hermano, poder escapar y dejar todo atr\u00e1s, es incre\u00edble\u201d.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Ambos se sorprendieron de lo r\u00e1pido que se adaptaron al campamento. A Ian le encant\u00f3 pasar el rato con los campistas mayores en CROM (el baile de fin de curso del campamento) y bailar libremente durante la Disco Silenciosa.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0El recuerdo favorito de Colin fue en Tiro con Arco, donde los campistas decidieron combinar sus habilidades con arcos y pinceles. Si los campistas daban en un trozo de papel en la diana, pod\u00edan pintarles las caras a sus monitores.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cY todos se acercaron a m\u00ed y me dijeron que me iban a pintar la cara\u201d.\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>Colin dijo.&nbsp;<strong><em>\u201cQued\u00e9 cubierto de pintura despu\u00e9s. Cada caba\u00f1a dio una sorpresa divertida y amable a otra caba\u00f1a, y su grupo hizo pulseras para la Caba\u00f1a Aspen. Esa fue su parte favorita del campamento: todos fueron muy inclusivos y la amabilidad se foment\u00f3 f\u00e1cilmente.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Roundup River Ranch invita a muchos campistas con diagn\u00f3sticos serios, e Ian y Colin estaban agradecidos de sentirse apoyados por el personal del campamento y m\u00e9dico mientras dirig\u00edan su caba\u00f1a.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cTienes mucha ayuda aqu\u00ed, y no todo depende de ti si algo sale mal.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;Colin observ\u00f3.&nbsp;<strong><em>\u201cHay tantos sistemas implementados, tantas personas para ayudarte. Da miedo pensar en estos ni\u00f1os con diagn\u00f3sticos tan graves, pero al final del d\u00eda no dejan de ser ni\u00f1os\u201d.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A cualquiera que est\u00e9 considerando una experiencia de voluntariado, su mayor consejo es que se entregue al campamento, y los campistas lo seguir\u00e1n.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cCuando te encuentres en este escenario, abraza la tonter\u00eda: coge un disfraz del armario de disfraces y simplemente divi\u00e9rtete.\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>Ian dijo.<strong><em>&nbsp;\u201cPorque los ni\u00f1os te ven haci\u00e9ndolo, y luego simplemente siguen tu ejemplo.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El verano pasado, Ian y Colin fueron voluntarios juntos en la Caba\u00f1a Osprey.
