\"CamperEste verano ha sido muy especial para el campista David. A los diecisiete a\u00f1os pudo asistir a su primera sesi\u00f3n de campamento de verano. A David le han diagnosticado par\u00e1lisis cerebral, s\u00edndrome alcoh\u00f3lico fetal y Aicardi - Goutieres, un trastorno gen\u00e9tico poco frecuente. Estos diagn\u00f3sticos limitan la capacidad de David para andar, hablar y llevar una vida independiente como los dem\u00e1s ni\u00f1os de su edad. Sin embargo, en el campamento David particip\u00f3, se implic\u00f3 y jug\u00f3 como todos sus compa\u00f1eros.<\/p>\n

Su madre, Tafet\u00e1n, lo cont\u00f3 porque era la primera vez que iba al campamento,\u00a0\u201cDavid estaba muy ilusionado. El personal le salud\u00f3 enseguida, todo el mundo estaba de acuerdo con lo que necesitaba y nos recibieron con los brazos abiertos.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Un momento memorable del campamento fue cuando David cant\u00f3 con todo su coraz\u00f3n a Lionel Richie para la noche del escenario.\u00a0\u201cNada me prepar\u00f3 para la hora de la recogida. Cuando llegu\u00e9 a recoger a David, todo el campamento se puso a cantar y bailar al ritmo de Lionel Richie. David estaba content\u00edsimo y muy conectado con todos los miembros del personal que le rodeaban. Estoy segura de que le hubiera gustado quedarse un a\u00f1o entero en el campamento\u201d.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>dice Tafet\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

En el campamento, David prob\u00f3 cosas nuevas e hizo amigos a los que tambi\u00e9n les gusta Batman tanto como a \u00e9l. Despu\u00e9s del campamento, Tafet\u00e1n dice que vio un cambio en David.\u00a0\u201cDavid estaba tan orgulloso de contar a la gente las cosas que hac\u00eda en el campamento, jugando, cantando karaoke, pescando, etc. Se mov\u00eda con un sentido de pertenencia independiente del m\u00edo y del de la familia. Fue una experiencia de crecimiento muy sana para \u00e9l\u201d.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

La familia de David conoci\u00f3 Roundup River Ranch en su adolescencia y recomendar\u00eda a cualquier familia que se inscribiera pronto, para poder asistir al campamento tantas veces como pueda.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tafet\u00e1n describi\u00f3 el campamento como \u201cun oasis para ni\u00f1os con necesidades especiales. Tienen la t\u00edpica experiencia de campamento, actividades divertidas, convivencia en grupo, b\u00fasqueda de aventuras, s'mores... todo ello mientras se atienden sus necesidades, pero no es el objetivo principal. Lo importante es ser un ni\u00f1o, divertirse y animarse a probar cosas nuevas.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
