MEDICALLY-SUPPORTED CAMP PROGRAMS
Some of the most renowned medical professionals in the Rocky Mountain region are here. (Although they may be wearing a tutu or superhero cape when you meet them.)
We provide comprehensive, individualized medical care for each of our campers. We recruit a diverse group of medical professionals to leave their lab coats and scrubs behind and join us as our medical team at camp. And while they may not look like medical providers when they’re dancing in a tutu, the truth is they are constantly focused on the needs and well-being of every camper. The providers who join us at camp have experience or training with preference given to the areas of specialty that we are serving. They are specifically selected to serve the diverse medical needs of our campers and the session – specific diagnosis groupings. Many of our medical volunteers are the same world-class providers who care for our campers in clinics and hospitals back home.
World-class care just steps from the fun of camp.
During our summer and weekend sessions, campers can receive expert care in their cabins, at activities or in our state-of-the-art medical facility, The Depot. The Depot is stocked with all the medical equipment and supplies needed to provide urgent, emergent, and routine pediatric care. We work closely with families to ensure their child’s care at camp is the same level as it is at home, carefully blending and balancing their medical care with the joy of Summer Camp experiences. This could include accessing central lines, providing IV therapy, and even overnight peritoneal dialysis. We have providers available and on call 24 hours a day while campers are onsite. Our healthcare professionals, trained staff, and dedicated volunteers support the full medical, physical, and emotional needs of our campers. No camper feels like they are missing out on the fun, even as they receive their needed care.
For providers, pharmacists, therapists, and nurses interested in joining us as a medical volunteer, pediatric clinical experience is preferred and eligibility to volunteer is determined following an interview with Roundup River Ranch medical staff. Preference is given to medical volunteers with experience and training in the diagnoses being served each session.
I want every kid to be able to keep a little bit of camp inside them all year. Kids need medicine to heal their illnesses but they need camp to heal their soul.”
