Welcome back to the Medical Minute! This month, we are joined by Dr. Monique Germone, a Pediatric Psychologist with the Colorado Center for Celiac Disease at Children’s Hospital. Dr. Germone explains how Celiac Disease is handled at camp and why campers with Celiac Disease benefit from going to a camp that offers a gluten-free menu. 🍽️ 🩷
Our first 2026 Summer Camp session will be for campers with Gastrointestinal and Liver Conditions and Celiac Disease, so this first session will be entirely gluten-free! Diagnoses served during this session include: liver disease, liver transplant, IBD/IBS (Crohn’s and colitis), short gut syndrome, Hirschsprung’s, gastroparesis, g-tube dependence, colorectal conditions, chronic pancreatitis, and celiac disease.
Our first Family Camp session in 2026 is also entirely gluten-free, serving campers with Gastrointestinal & Liver Conditions including celiac. Not sure if you qualify? Reach out to our medical team at medteam@roundupriverranch.org!
P.S. Camper applications open January 5th, so mark your calendar to join us at Summer Camp 1 or Family Camp 1!
Stay tuned for next month’s Medical Minute 🩺

Camp wouldn`t be camp without our volunteers! 🫶 As we celebrate National Camp Day today, we want to thank our incredible volunteers for their dedication of time, energy, and all-around awesomeness to all of our camp events and programming! 🌟 We LOVED hosting an in-person volunteer appreciation party for our wonderful volunteers earlier this week at the Punch Bowl Social in Denver. The night was full of smiles and laughter as volunteers chatted with each other and staff, bowled, threw darts, and enjoyed delicious snacks. 🎳 Happy National Camp Day, and thank you to all our big-hearted volunteers! 🧡
Introducing another new member of our Board of Directors! 🎉
Rebeca Hanrahan has used her diverse skill set in service to Roundup River Ranch for many years. Originally from Puerto Rico, she has a foundation in Industrial Engineering with experience in real estate, the pharmaceutical industry, and the cruise industry. Her move to the Vail Valley sparked an interest in engaging with local nonprofit initiatives. Rebeca has served on Roundup River Ranch`s A Grateful Harvest Committee and co-chaired for the last four years. 💕
Her favorite Guidepost is “In it to win it!” She has invested her time and care into our community and has supported the growth of our organization to make our mission happen. 💗
Thank you for taking this next step with us, Rebeca! 👏
