Non-Medical – Family Camp Volunteer Opportunities

Ranch Hand: The traditional “camp counselor” role — Family Camp edition! Provide assistance and guidance for campers and their families throughout their days at camp by supporting them and cheering for them in activities including program areas, special events and mealtimes. Ranch Hand Volunteers will also be asked to help lead activities during the weekend, including Archery, Boating, Discovery, Nature, and more! Ranch Hands will live in the staff lodge during their time at camp. Volunteers in this role have the most interaction with our camper families. |

Residential Life Assistant: The do-it-all, magic-makers of camp. This position allows you to get a taste of several aspects of camp by supporting cabin life, kitchen services, and more! You’ll provide the daily cleaning necessary to help keep our campers medically safe. Tasks include general cleaning and organization, setting up the cookhouse for meals, setting water coolers out for the kids, and helping out in the kitchen if needed. Volunteers in this role can be housed in the Staff Lodge or the Cabins depending on interest and availability. And when the daily tasks are completed, you can hop into programming and join the kiddos in the fun with the power of parallel play! |

Kitchen Day Volunteer: Our behind-the-scenes superheroes! This position is responsible for duties including assisting campers, volunteers, and staff during mealtime, and with clean up after meals; assisting with dining room set up for each meal; assisting with food preparation and serving as needed; washing dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, and pans by hand or machine; keeping dishwasher area clean; straightening counter/clean after each meal; sweeping and mopping kitchen and dining room; taking out trash from kitchen and dining room to dumpster. Housing is not provided for day volunteers. (This role is for volunteers ages 16+) |
Medical – Family Camp Volunteer Opportunities

Nurse/NP Student: These Rockstars provide routine and emergent nursing care for campers, and they prepare and administer medications for campers. Nurses provide routine procedures for each camper, including the care of internal and external central lines, dressing changes, G-Tube and other continuous/bolus feeds, urinary catheters, etc. When not performing medical duties, our goal is for the medical team to have fun and spend time with families! |

Physician/Provider (MD, DO, PA, NP): These world-class medical providers leave their lab coats and scrubs behind and swap them for a tutu! Physician/Providers work with the camp team to assure safety and fun. They work with the medical team to provide routine medical care, and provide evaluation and treatment of acute medical conditions to campers, staff and volunteers. This may include dressing changes, central line flushes, g-tube feeds and other treatments, plus various levels of first-aid care to specific disease related complications (fever, neutropenia, wheezing, pain, etc.). When not performing medical duties, our goal is for the medical team to have fun and spend time with families! |

Non-Medical – Summer Camp Volunteer Opportunities

Cabin Leader: The traditional “camp counselor” role! Provide direct care of campers including looking after their daytime and nighttime needs while living in the cabin alongside campers and a team of peers; accompany and encourage campers through their schedule of activities; actively facilitate friendships between campers; provide behavioral support; PLUS share in laughter, giggles, dancing, singing and s’mores over the campfire! Volunteers in this role have the most interaction with our campers. This position requires long, demanding hours, but is a life-changing and rewarding experience. |

Cabin Nurse/NP Student:These rockstars help provide medical care to a cabin of up to 10 campers throughout the session. Cabin nurses deliver daily medications and perform routine procedures for each camper, including the care of central lines, dressing changes, G-Tubes and other continuous/bolus feeds, urinary catheters, etc. as needed. Nurses live in a separate room (with a private bathroom) in the same cabin as their campers. Often, there will be two nurses to each cabin. When not performing medical duties, the nurses are joining activities, dancing, and making memories with their campers! |

Provider/Physician (MD, DO, PA, NP*):Our awesome provider volunteers help staff the medical facility, The Depot, and take turns being on call overnight in conjunction with RRR medical admin (full-time staff). Providers help care for campers who might have acute or specialty care needs. When not staffing The Depot, providers are joining cabin activities, providing medical coverage at high-risk program areas, and supporting cabin nurses. Other duties assigned may include wearing tutus and camp dancing. Preferred entire session commitment with the potential to split session with another provider. *NPs who want to be a cabin nurse should fill out the cabin nurse application. |

Check-In Day Nurse/Support/CNA: Meet campers and their families as they arrive to camp! Some will be excited, some will be nervous, but all will be happy to see YOU! Tasks include: taking vital signs/weight, reviewing camper medications, helping admissions take profile pictures, bringing medications/supplies to the cabins. Time requirement is approximately 9:00AM-6:00PM on any (or all!) session arrival days.

Pharmacist: Join us in setting up each camper for a safe week by helping us dispense, count, and reconcile medications for the week. Tasks include medication preparation and verification on Check-In Day and final medication safety checks and pouring on Day 2. This role is absolutely essential in ensuring accurate medication administration. Time commitment is Volunteer Orientation, Check-In Day (12:00pm-9:00pm) and Day 2 (8:30am-3:00pm). Medical Desk Volunteer: No medical experience required! Each session, our Med Desk Volunteer helps us keep The Depot up and running. This volunteer greets campers seeking medical treatment, cleans rooms that have been used, and transports minor medical supplies out and about to camp. This volunteer participates in our morning medical meetings and staffs The Depot from approximately 10am – 5pm each regular day of the session. |

Check-In Day Nurse/Support/CNA Volunteer: Denver Check-In Day Nurse Support involves meeting at the bus pick-up location to review medical information, collect camper medications, and cheer our campers on as they head to camp! Time requirement is approximately 9:00AM – 1:00PM. |

Check-In Volunteers: Nonmedical support during check in day is incredibly important job to kick off the week at camp. You will be helping with paperwork, caring suitcases, playing back pocket games, and just being the first cheerful, campy, face our campers meet! Time 10am-2pm. |
