2022 Program Announcement

Roundup River Ranch is excited to offer a wide variety of year-round programs in 2022! Our 2022 program calendar will welcome campers back to camp onsite, and we are equally thrilled to bring more campers together through our Outreach Programs.

Whether we are together under the stars at camp again, giggling and singing together online, or feeling the warm hug of togetherness opening a Joy, Delivered box, we know: Camp brings us together in all kinds of remarkable, magical ways.

Outreach Programs next year include Camp Online (Camp Clubs, Summer Camp Online, Family Camp Online, and more!), Joy, Delivered as well as Camp In Your Community, our offline camp delivery programs, and offsite Camper Reunions – which will take place in the Denver area. Our Onsite Programs include traditional Summer Camps and newly designed Family Retreats! We are thrilled to bring together campers, seasonal staff, and volunteers for an epic year of programming.

All 2022 program decisions and plans are guided by our board of directors, staff, and Guideposts, which include Campers Are #1 and Savvy About Safety. Every camper experience will be fun, enriching, memorable, and safe to create the best experience possible. With this in mind, we will offer a reduced camper capacity for Onsite Programs, and modifications are being made to our facilities. Additionally, we are also updating policies and procedures to create a new version of camp that continues to celebrate joy, community, and fun – while also ensuring a focus on safety.

Campers Are #1!

  • In-Person Programs include:
    • 5 Summer Camp* sessions will operate at 55% capacity (40 campers) for five-day sessions.
    • 5 Family Retreats* will operate at 66% capacity (12 families) for three-day weekend sessions.
*Please note campers will be selected through a lottery process. Please visit us online for diagnosis eligibility by session.
    • 3 Camper Reunions offsite will be scheduled throughout the year.

Due to the evolving nature of COVID-19, we are prepared to move to virtual programs if they are deemed the safest experience for our campers. We will follow safe metrics that includes topics such as staffing levels, community infection rates, guidelines, and CDC recommendations.

Savvy About Safety!

In designing and operating onsite and offsite in-person programs, we will closely follow guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), the Colorado Department of Human Services and childcare licensing (CDHS), and the American Camping Association (ACA). We will also be operating based on recommendations from the SeriousFun Children’s Network (SFCN) that were created with support from outside professionals, Environmental Health and Engineering, Inc (EH&E) specifically for camps serving children with serious illnesses. As these standards develop and evolve, we will continuously update our own policies.

We have developed a robust FAQs document regarding onsite, in-person programs, so you know what to expect. Below are some highlights to be aware of:

  • All participants and the family members that they live with must agree to participate in low-risk activities for 14 days prior to camp.
  • All participants are required to take a COVID-19 test prior to arrival, during check in, and three days into the camp session.
  • All volunteers and staff are required to be fully immunized against COVID-19.
  • All Summer Camp campers must have completed their COVID-19 vaccine series in order to attend camp.
  • All Family Retreat family members, who are eligible, need to be fully vaccinated in order to attend camp onsite.

You will find information regarding calendars, deadlines, and safety protocols on our website at www.RoundupRiverRanch.org. Camper applications will open online on Monday, January 3, 2022 – and we will continue sending communications to families leading up to that date. While in-person programs will have limited capacity, we encourage campers to sign up for as many Outreach Programs as their schedule allows. Volunteer and Seasonal Staff applications will be announced soon – be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

We are proud of our organization’s ability to create and recreate our programming model during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are grateful for all the support we’ve received in being able to make it to this point. We’re excited to be with you around the campfire again!
