Every Summer, Roundup River Ranch employs a group of dedicated, talented, and fun professionals at our beautiful campsite in the Colorado Rockies. A unique rewarding and immersive travel experience allowing you to ditch your scrubs and spend the Summer outside at camp, bringing the simple joys of childhood. Key Dates
Attending Staff Training is essential for team integration, position-specific training/certification, and learning all of Roundup River Ranch’s emergency procedures, policies, and program needs. Please review our training schedule dates below to plan ahead and confirm your availability for our essential trainings. If you are not available for all of these dates we encourage you to still apply as we may be able to grant some flexibility on a case-by-case basis and depending on prior experience.
- May 7th (arrival): Leadership Training: Lead Nurse, Team Lead(s), and the Behavioral Health Lead
- May 11th (May 10th arrival): Summer Staff Nurse Training; Lifeguard & Challenge Course Training for identified Program Leaders
- May 18th (May 17th arrival): All Staff Training – Program Leaders, Cabin Leaders and Admin Assistants
- June 4 – August 14th: Core Camp Season

2026 Open Roles
- Lead Nurse: The Lead Nurse supports the medical safety, health, and wellbeing of campers at Roundup River Ranch when camp is in session and during on-site programming. This is a leadership role that supports medical operations as well as helps manage and support the seasonal summer staff nurses. This is a seasonal opportunity for a uniquely qualified and experienced pediatric nurse. This position requires a highly motivated and inclusive team player who finds working with children with serious medical conditions to be rewarding. In collaboration with the Nursing Director (ND), Nursing Manager, and Medical Director this position provides direct nursing care to campers and supports other staff/volunteer nurses similar to a charge nurse in a hospital setting. This position supports the training of staff nurses and medical volunteers, as well as providing training and education in basic medical protocols for non-medical staff and volunteers involved in the direct care and support of campers. This position will report to the Nursing Director and will also work closely with the Nursing Manager.
- Seasonal Dates: May 6th – August 7th including leadership and staff training as well as designated camp days on/off per camp schedule.
- Weekly rate: $2,035.71 per week
- Contract length: 14 weeks
- Total contract compensation: $28,500 (not including bonus!)
- Eligible for bonus of up to $3,500!
- Summer Staff Nurse: The Summer Staff Nurse supports the medical safety, health, and wellbeing of campers when camp is in session and during on-site programming through direct medical care of campers. This position requires more than 1 year of pediatric nursing experience. The position needs a team player who values teamwork and will collaborate with other seasonal summer staff nurses and the Medical Team (Nursing Director (ND), Medical Director and Nursing Manager). This position provides all necessary direct medical care for campers during the duration of their time at camp including medications, treatments and daily procedures. It is expected that the cabin nurse will be with their cabin as much as possible throughout the day. This position supports the training of medical volunteers, as well as providing training and education in basic medical protocols for non-medical staff and volunteers involved in the direct care and support of campers. This position will report to the ND. This position will also support the Lead Nurse and Nursing Manager.
- Seasonal Dates: May 11th-August 7th including training; specific workdays/days off to be provided in accordance with camp schedule.
- Weekly rate: $1,500 per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Total contract compensation: $19,500 (not including bonus!)
- Eligible for bonus of up to $3,500!
