Campaign Countdown Begins with Final Push as the Nonprofit Nears its Goal with $25.7M Raised to Date
GYPSUM, COLO. (Sept. 16, 2024) – Roundup River Ranch announces its final phase of the Roundup the Possibilities Campaign, which has raised $25,791,034. This milestone moves the organization closer to its goal of funding three new cabins, with construction set to begin in fall 2024. Campers can expect to stay in the new cabins by the summer 2026– just in time for Roundup River Ranch’s 20th anniversary.
“Our focus has always been on delivering life-changing camp experiences for children with life-altering diagnoses, and these new cabins are an exciting step toward expanding that mission,” said Sarah Johnson, president and CEO of Roundup River Ranch. “The generous support from the community has been incredible, and as we approach our 20th anniversary, these cabins will stand as a symbol of what can be achieved when we come together.”
Design work on the new cabins is in final stages to ensure a comfortable and inclusive environment for all campers. Each cabin will feature a spacious common area and three bunk rooms, creating a home away from home. The interiors will be thoughtfully created to foster a sense of belonging and comfort, with accessible features that ensure campers with disabilities can fully participate in all activities. The construction will be overseen by MacAllister Construction, ensuring the cabins are built to the highest standards.

These new additions to the campsite will expand the organization’s capacity to serve more campers and a wider range of medical conditions, and further create a sense of community and togetherness. Roundup River Ranch is pleased to report that major contributions this year are advancing its capital projects plan. The Schlessman Family Foundation has provided a generous donation that fully funds the construction of a second cabin. This vital support helps expand Roundup River Ranch’s capacity and enhance the camp experience for more campers.
As the Campaign enters the home stretch, a $500,000 challenge gift from longtime donors, Pat and Donna Martin, has been announced. This challenge serves as an incentive, with an additional $500,000 to be donated, if the $1.5M capital and growth goal is met by Thanksgiving.
The community is invited to participate in this milestone and help “Pave the Way” by sponsoring a paver that will create a beautiful pathway at Roundup River Ranch’s 125-acre campsite in Gypsum, Colorado. Any gift of any amount will help complete the final stages of the Roundup the Possibilities Campaign.
