Roundup River Ranch’s Spring Gala Gives Donors a Chance to Experience Camp in the Heart of the City with A Taste of Camp
Celebrating the 2022 Camp Theme “Together” is Our Happy Place, the gala honors campers, Outreach Programs, and generous supporters.
DENVER, COLO. (April 27, 2022) – Today, Roundup River Ranch, a nonprofit organization founded by Paul Newman that offers camp programming to children with serious illnesses, announced details about A Taste of Camp, one of the organization’s annual fundraising events that gives donors and supporters a glimpse into their magical camp experience. This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, May 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Mile High Station. Roundup River Ranch’s 2022 Camp Theme, “Together” is our Happy Place, celebrates the Denver community coming together to make a difference in the lives of children and families during this special event.
“Bringing our dear supporters into the world of Roundup River Ranch is such an exciting opportunity for our team to share the healing power of camp,” said Ruth B. Johnson, JD, president and CEO of Roundup River Ranch. “A majority of our camper families who attend Roundup River Ranch reside in Denver and the Front Range, which makes this event all the more enriching. A Taste of Camp is instrumental in supporting our innovative, free camp programs and provides vital funds for welcoming our campers and their families back to our campsite this summer.”
The event features DJ entertainment during cocktail hour, camp-inspired activities, evening programming, dinner, and a live auction and paddle raise. Guests are encouraged to dress in Colorado casual attire. All proceeds from the event go toward creating free programs and serving hundreds of children coping with cancer, blood disorders, organ transplants, and other serious conditions. Debbi Alpert will be acknowledged and presented with the 2022 Superhero Award for her heartfelt advocacy and support for the organization and its campers.
For the second year in a row, The Diamond Reserve has donated a stunning jewelry piece in support for the event’s Camper Call paddle raise. This year’s jewelry piece, valued around $30,000, aims to help Roundup River Ranch exceed its Camper Call donation goal by offering donors a chance to win a vintage, 92 carat, aquamarine solitaire necklace. The more money raised at A Taste of Camp means more children can experience the healing power of camp.
“Roundup River Ranch has been critical in helping our family find joy and respite during our challenging moments,” said Priscilla, a parent of a Roundup River Ranch camper. “We have participated in Roundup River Ranch’s Camp Online programs and Camper Reunions for the last two years and it’s truly a magical feeling being surrounded by others who are going through a similar life journey. From establishing friendships to healing through free camp programs, Roundup River Ranch is making dreams come true for these incredibly special kids.”
A Taste of Camp is generously supported by corporate sponsors DaVita, Alpine Bank, First Western Trust, Hyde Park Jewelers, and Liberty Media.
