FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Roundup River Ranch’s A Taste of Camp Raised Over $520,000, Making it the Most Successful Spring Gala the Nonprofit has Ever Had

The $520,040 raised allows Roundup River Ranch to continue providing life-changing camp experiences free of charge.

DENVER, COLO. (May 24, 2023) – Roundup River Ranch, a nonprofit that enriches the lives of children with serious illnesses and their families by offering free, medically-supported camp programs, raised $520,040 at its annual fundraising event, A Taste of Camp, on May 18 at Asterisk. Money raised at the event goes towards providing free programs and experiences for hundreds of children coping with cancer, blood disorders, organ transplants and other serious illnesses.

“It was heartwarming to see supporters and partners come together to share the joy of camp,” said Sarah Johnson, president and CEO of Roundup River Ranch. “It’s through this overwhelming community support that we’re able to provide transformational camp experiences to children in a variety of ways.”

Chef Troy Guard, 2023 Chef of the Year and Executive Chef at TAG Restaurant Group, curated a family-style meal alongside eight other Denver chefs for the first time in the event’s history. The event featured a cocktail hour, evening program, a silent and live auction, and paddle raise. The celebration continued with a DJ and after party at Asterisk’s rooftop deck, sponsored by Suburban Toppers. With SHINE ON as the 2023 camp theme, Andy and Ainsley, two Roundup River Ranch campers, shared their personal summer camp experience and expressed their deepest gratitude for the life-changing opportunities the leading nonprofit has provided them. Additionally, Kathy Cole was presented with this year’s Superhero Award for her continuous support to make a lasting, heroic difference for campers.

“Working closely with Roundup River Ranch over the last few years has allowed me to help impact more campers through its innovative Outreach Programs,” said Kathy Cole, founding member of the board of directors and Superhero Award recipient. “I’m honored to receive this year’s award and look forward to supporting Roundup River Ranch’s future for many years to come.”

A Taste of Camp was made possible by corporate sponsors: Alpine Bank, Alterra Mountain Company, Children’s Hospital Colorado, DaVita, The Diamond Reserve, Donations for Dignity, First Western Trust, Gresham Smith, Storehouse Mastermind, and Vail Resorts EpicPromise.
